I just returned from a reading conference this week and although I feel a bit more secure in what I'll be teaching, I'm also really overwhelmed. There is just -so- much to be done. The week has been extraordinarily long as well, and I've been so tired lately, going to bed around 8ish the past few nights. And once again, art has taken a back seat to my actual activities here. Havta color the inked drawing I did for Kalle for the PE round 31 before the 24th..and then, its back to participating as often as I can while juggling the other stuff. And yet, I'm determined not to leave PE or take an extended absence, probably because I love it so much. But sadly, as the summer dwindles to a close, I'm left alot of tasks and steadily decreasing time to complete them in.
Even with the load of work and scariness, I'm -so- excited about teaching. Been arranging my new classroom and irking the janitor with all of my various furniture adjustments, but I can't wait for it to be finished. The finished design will host my little room as an island, with home-made continent curtains, a fake palm tree and 'sand' (a tan shag rug) for the reading corner, island theme bullitin board and decorations that include beach balls, netting, tropical leaves and grass skirts. Oh yes, and my hall pass is a bright orange life vest-preserver. :p Hope it all goes over well! :)
